IM SORRY IM FREAKING OUT IM SCREAMING!!!! I was checking out the website where I often buy my books from and I checked if they had Scott Pilgrim in hopes they had it in stock because everytime I checked it was never in stock OR I had to check instore which meant there was an unlucky chance the nearby store had it. I checked and it was in stock!!!! I went to the store and I had to go digging in the boxset pile and I found it 😭. This box set verison of Scott Pilgrim is by 4Th estate which is WAY LOWER QUALITY than the Oni Press verison. If you want a further comparison scroll further down! Even though I know the quality sucks I still got it 🙏

This is the first Scott Pilgrim related I got! I got this when I was 13.

I don't remember when I got this but I bought this when I was hanging out with a couple of friends in the city. I had just heard about this bookstore that had opened up in the city and I went there, checked the graphic novel section and it was there. This was the only volume they had and I knew I'd probably never go back to this exact bookstore again in months or years so I bought it. This hurt my wallet so much it was 30 or 40 dollars.

I got it at that same bookstore for 50% off. It was orginally like 20 dollars?? Somewhere around that price range and I got it for 10 dollars! It was half off for a reason it's kinda beat up.

Oni Press and 4th estate comparison!

I only own one Oni Press Scott Pilgrim book which is Vol.6 so I'm not comparing the whole series. The first thing is the difference in design on the book cover. The 4th estate looks so sad and the Oni Press looks so happy. They changed the logo colour to black and yellow instead of neon pink and yellow which makes it stand out more. I think the worst thing is the change in font on the author's name and review on the back like it's such an ugly font!
There's a huge difference in quality between the two. 4th estate has thin pages, making the book thinner and it’s slightly taller than Oni Press, which is an issue. Because of this, there's a cropping and scaling issue. This is most prominent in Vol 2 where the logo is cut off. Another issue from this is the image quality, they transformed it to be taller causing it to be slightly blurry. The colouring was not much of an issue but it's extremely obvious in Vol 4.
